Kitchen trends for 2022 are boasting new color choices and creative design solutions while maintaining a few of the past design concepts. We chose five of the biggest trends of 2022 to share with our followers.

Softened Color Choices-

Homeowners are walking away from the solid white kitchen and into a fun yet soft color combination. Sherwin Williams released their 2022 collection of the year in this post. They feature some great colors to add to your kitchen, including Alabaster and Retreat, a sage shade of green. Benjamin Moore Paints also released their color of the year, which is October Mist 1495 ( another shade of green). Pair that with Pale Moon yellow, and your home kitchen will pop with fun.

Open Concept Still Trending-

Closed-off kitchens are still undesirable in 2022. New homeowners and those seeking to buy are demanding open-concept kitchens, and why shouldn’t they? With no barriers or doors to separate the cook from the family, mealtime becomes family time, entertaining and having great conversations while cooking, and room flow are just a few of the benefits of an open concept kitchen.

Kitchen Islands That Kick Up Style-

Kitchen Islands are not going anywhere but are turning it up a notch with style and innovation. Islands now are a hub of technology and storage options. Hidden compartments, spaces for pet bowls and food, USB ports, and added technology have blasted home islands into 2022. Pair that with quartz or stained concrete countertops, add a sink, and you have a kitchen island that stands out. Other options include beadboard, bar molding, or custom woodwork.

Kitchen Cabinets –

Kitchen cabinets are a game-changer for any kitchen. Newer styles now include a wide range of storage and organizational options, including hidden compartments, charging stations, and pull-out shelving. Another big thing affecting cabinets in 2022 is the choices in colors. All white is on its way out. Homeowners are opting for cabinets that are colored or the opposite extreme, utterly bare wood. Designers are also adding depth using color.

Unique Finishes –

Homeowners choose unique and detailed finishes for their kitchen by adding custom hardware and upgrading faucets. Designs are moving from polished metals to ash green, soapstone, and patinated metals. Other finishes in the kitchen to try are crown molding on the ceiling, plaster medallions on ceiling design, and upgraded lighting.

Much like 2021, this year is shaping up to be a hectic year in home remodeling and construction. If you are looking to sell your home and want the best price you can get on the market, we suggest upgrading your kitchen. The money you put into it will benefit you in the sale. Also, homeowners intending to stay in their homes, why not upgrade your space and make the most of it? Create the home center you have always wanted by adding new cabinets, counters, and an island.
